ThinkSpace Education joins Independent HE as 50th member

We are delighted to announce that ThinkSpace Education has become the eleventh institution to join Independent Higher Education in 2018, taking IHE’s total membership to 50.

ThinkSpace Education is a specialist online provider of postgraduate degrees in film, TV and music composition and sound design. Courses are taught by working professional practitioners, many at the forefront of professional practice. Their professional credits include major Hollywood feature films, AAA games and major TV series for companies including Disney, Warner Bros, Universal, Sony Pictures, Netflix, Dreamworks, Marvel and many more.  Working in partnership with the University of Chichester, ThinkSpace is the only online provider in the world delivering postgraduate degrees in this subject area.

Their innovative approach to online learning was rewarded with a commendation in their Higher Education Review for enhancement. With a retention rate of over 99%, ThinkSpace focuses on delivering well managed courses with high levels of engagement. The VLE has been developed in-house to deliver an exceptional experience for staff and students. The company continues to explore new opportunities to bring its distinctive approach to online learning, to new subject areas within the creative industries.

In a further exciting development for IHE, we are very pleased to confirm that Marie Clark has been appointed as our newest member of staff, as Director of External Relations. Marie has spent more than ten years working in UK higher education and joins us from The PIE News. Her experience spans policy, communications, marketing and events. She is best known in the sector for leading the establishment and growth of the Hobsons (now QS) International Student Survey, the world’s leading survey of prospective international student decision making. Marie took up her role on 1 October 2018.

She has excelled at every stage of her career in UK HE, acquiring valuable experience in communications, marketing and business development that she will putting to good use as our new Director of External Relations.”

We are also pleased to announce that IHE’s Joy Elliott-Bowman has been promoted to the new position of Director of Policy and Development as of 1 October 2018. Joy will continue to lead IHE’s policy work, while taking an active role in the development of good practice within IHE member institutions and the services we offer to support this.
