7 June- Handling Sexual Misconduct and harassment cases

Following on from the OfS webinar, this is an opportunity for members to reflect on the implications of this work for their intuition. This discussion will be led by Smita Jamdar from Shakespeare Martineau.

The Office for Students recently called for urgent action to tackle harassment and sexual misconduct. All higher education providers have been asked to review their policies, systems and procedures before the next academic year.

They have also published a statement of expectations, which outlines the practical steps that should be taking to tackle harassment and sexual misconduct – including harassment based on age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation. The statement of expectation will not, at this point, be connected to a specific condition of registration.
