Waltham International College
Waltham International College is an independent provider of further (FE) and higher education (HE) programmes approved for inclusion in the Register by the Office for Students. Situated in Barking, East London, with further campuses in Birmingham, Leeds and Sheffield, WIC (founded in 2010) provides both real-life vocational education and academic study courses for students aged 16+. We integrate the talents of our students with their visions and aspirations to support them in becoming the authors of their success.
Over 80% of our students would be considered as widening participation students by the mainstream HE sectors. WIC has developed an organisational and academic culture that meets the varied needs of this the communities we serve whilst maintaining the academic standards of the programmes delivered. The vocational approaches of the FE provision mean that these students can be re-integrated into work or successfully progress into and through HE programmes.
The College has an established team of academic and management staff that demonstrate WIC cultural values to sustain future organisational growth being overseen by the Board of Governors. This is underpinned by 4 strategic pillars centred around Students, Community, Innovation & Research and Partnership.
