KLC School of Design
Is a London-based specialist educator in both Interior Design and Garden Design. As an independent FE and HE provider, KLC is able to offer students a hybrid education that includes academic qualifications validated by the University of Brighton coupled with a strong vocational industry focus.
KLC achieves its unique course blend through a mix of enhanced tutor contact, cutting edge technologies and extensive industry partnerships that enhance learning and result in strong student employability.
From our suite of design studios on the 5th Floor of Design Centre East, Chelsea Harbour, KLC is based in the very heart of the Interior Design Industry. Similarly our Garden Design courses have exclusive access to the extensive Royal 20th Century Gardens at Hampton Court Palace.
The KLC history
The school was established over 35 years ago by Jenny Gibbs and has built up an outstanding international reputation over the years for providing practical, accessible and professional career training for the interior and garden design industries.
Careers focused training
KLC offers a uniquely proactive careers service, which is an integral part of the training we provide with the end goal of securing work in the industry for our graduates and we actively assist with this.
Work shadowing is organised for students during holiday breaks on the longer courses and, for those students unable to undertake work experience due to visa restrictions or studying on one of KLC’s cutting-edge Online courses, an alternative is provided through KLC’s specially developed “Virtual Work Experience” programme.
Employers appreciate the way that KLC graduates have been effectively prepared for entry into the industry with practical and commercial knowledge combined with design skills and nurtured creativity. Consequently KLC graduates are now working in a broad and prestigious range of design companies and there is a history of graduate successes.
At KLC we believe modern interior and garden designers are multi-disciplinary careers focussed on designing user experiences. The design process can encompass a wide range of skills which include: 3D Computer Modelling, Architecture, Business, Graphic Design, Horticulture, People Skills, Product Design, Psychology, Surface Design, and Textiles.
So whether your ultimate goal is to practice as a professional interior or garden designer, or whether you are simply developing a passionate interest, we are able to offer you the training you need and at times to suit you either onsite or online.
