Join us for the 2018 Independent Higher Education Awards on the evening of Monday 26 November (the first day of the 2018 IHE Annual Conference) to celebrate innovation and best practice across the independent HE sector.
Network with leaders and professionals from independent universities and colleges, and invited guests from government and the higher education sector. Join in with the excitement as you wait to hear whether your institution has impressed our judges enough to make the grade. Enjoy a tasty three-course meal and preceding drinks reception.
We are delighted to confirm the Rt. Hon Lord Adonis, former education minister and anti-Brexit campaigner, as our special guest speaker at the IHE Awards Dinner. Andrew Adonis is a senior Labour party politician, academic and journalist. Having served as Head of the Number 10 Policy Unit, Minister for Schools and Secretary of State for Transport in the last Labour government, he now sits in the House of Lords and is a visiting professor at King’s College London. In recent months, Lord Adonis has become one of the most prominent voices in the ‘People’s Vote’ campaign for a second EU referendum.
Your host for the evening is Martin ‘Ace’ Kent, guitarist with UK rock phenomenon Skunk Anansie, and Head of Creative Development at IHE member the Academy of Contemporary Music, who will start the night by sharing his reflections on life as a creative professional, complete with plenty of tales from his 20 years on stage and in the music industry.
