IHE submission to Department for Education consultation on post-qualification admissions
This was a significant consultation which the Department is continuing to engage with the sector on over the coming months, and at the delivery stage if the reforms are taken forward.
We held numerous meetings with members and the Department on the proposals, which focused on issues relating to international students, timetabling for interviews and auditions, the validity of predicted grades, as well as resource planning and the disproportionate impact of these reforms on SME providers.
We urged the Department to provide further details on funding and policies for IAG that we argued would need to be implemented to make a success of the models outlined in the consultation. Focusing on the wider wrap-around policies for student transitions was also highlighted in our consultation as a critical part of any strategy taking admissions reforms forward.
