Independent Higher Education (IHE) has responded to the Review of Post-18 Education and Funding (Augar Review). The independent panel have published their report which looks at the whole of tertiary education and funding in which IHE gave evidence to the panel last year.
Alex Proudfoot, IHE Chief Executive said:
“Independent Higher Education welcomes the publication of the Independent panel report to the Review of Post-18 Education and Funding. Independent education providers often sit at the intersection of higher education, technical education and industry, and have been heavily influenced by both student demand and funding models. It is worrying that, while focusing heavily on this intersection, the panel has failed to note the existence and contribution of independent higher education providers who are not the HEIs, FECs and ITPs identified in the report and this reflects poorly on their understanding of the sector as a whole.”
