Following from the September launch of our Validation Project, in partnership with the Open University (OU) and the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), we have produced an interim report outlining the progress to date. The report specifically focuses on the challenges for validation partnerships, identifying key principles to ensure effective validation, and makes several recommendations on the roles regulators could play in the future to improve validation and protect students in these partnerships.
The IHE/QAA/OU Validation Project is a collaboration between Independent Higher Education, The Open University and the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education to test a new validation model that aims to promote best practice for UK HE providers.
The objective of the project is to develop a transparent, consistent and risk based approach to validation which removes obstacles that might discourage new providers from entering the HE sector.
