Transnational Education (TNE) is a key part of higher education providers in the UK, with UK campuses across the world, summer schools with strategic international partners and training with multi-national organisations delivered globally. TNE can take many forms and independent higher education providers are key to innovative and creative applications of this. QAA, Universities UK and Guild HE have come together to consult on how TNE can be delivered most effectively within the sector.
The consultation goals are to understand whether “external in-country quality enhancement activity of UK TNE should be added to existing mechanisms” and to explore ways to “develop an economically sustainable system for the external quality enhancement system of UK TNE that will underpin its continued growth.” The deadline for the consultation is 3 January 2020 at 11pm and higher education providers are encouraged to complete the consultation. The questions look at the guiding principles of the research, models for the continued improvement and quality enhancement of UK TNE – both quality assurance and governance models.
This webinar will cover the key areas of the consultation to support the development of the Independent HE response as well as giving members the tools to submit a response on behalf of their institution. It will look into the questions in more depth and how independent providers can share their experience and knowledge of TNE provision within the independent part of the higher education sector. The webinar will be led by Joy Elliott-Bowman, Director of Policy and Development at Independent HE.
