The Office for Students is currently consulting on student protection directions. It would allow the OfS to intervene more quickly and in a targeted way when they consider that a provider is at material risk of leaving the higher education sector.
They are seeking views on proposals to create a new general ongoing condition of registration that would apply to providers that are not Further Education Bodies, as a permanent amendment to the OfS’s regulatory framework.
They are consulting now because, in their view, the risk to students arising from market exit cases is currently as a result of Covid-19.
As always, IHE will be responding to the consultation and we encourage members to also consider doing so. This webinar will be an opportunity to hear more about the proposals and discuss/inform the IHE response. We are delighted to be joined by Rob Stroud, Head of Student Protection and Market Exit at the Office for Students.
