21 October 2022 – OfS Consultation: Regulating equality of opportunity in English higher education
The Office for Students are consulting on a new approach to regulating equality of opportunity in English higher education. This includes regulation of access and participation plans. In this webinar, the IHE policy team will outline the proposals for a risk based approach to equality of opportunity. Attention will be drawn to the role of smaller providers, as noted within the consultation documentation. There will be a chance for questions from members, and we will seek any initial feedback to form part of the IHE response to the consultation.
This session will be essential for any provider with an access and participation plan (registered with the OfS as approved – fee cap). It is useful too for those with an access and participation statement (registered as approved) who wish to properly understand the context of equality of opportunity. It is recommended for all staff working with widening participation remits, and those who are responsible for progression, not just access and outreach.
